Journey's End

As both the first colony established in Sigma Region and the birthplace of the Journeyman movement, Journey's End was the obvious choice for capital world of the new Sigma Federation. Journey's End is the most populous planet in the region, and the second wealthiest after Vergessenheitstor, with a massive economy focused on high-tech industry and skilled trades. This culturally diverse world is in the midst of a dramatic social transformation following the Journeymen's seizure of political power in 2052 which has met with mixed enthusiasm on some corners of the planet. One thing all residents of Journey's End agree upon, however, is independence from Earth; Journey's End alone contributes roughly one third of the Sigma Space Forces' total personnel, and one fifth its equipment, weapons and supplies. New Liberia

This fertile colony world at the heart of Sigma Region was founded on the ideals of giving those people of African descent to realize the potential that imperialism snatched from them on Earth. Essentially one large commune, the planet's sparse population by and large work in one of two industries: agriculture and the arts. New Liberia is known to its inhabitants and outsiders alike as a pastoral paradise, a largely untamed world where humanity and nature maintain a harmonious relationship. Of course, the galaxy is a dangerous place, and the New Liberians' way of life has left them largely without a means to defend themselves. Although the world mainly relies on diplomacy and careful neutrality to maintain peace, this fragile society is also protected from the shadows by a secretive organization known only as the Trust. Vergessenheistor

The industrial colony world known as Oblivion's Gate in German is unique among the Sigma worlds, and indeed all worlds claimed by humanity, for its ultra-conservative, monarchial structure. The origins of this social order are found in Kronberg Galaxy, the massive industrial conglomerate responsible for the initial exploration and colonisation of the planet. Literally everything on Vergessenheitstor is owned and operated by the company, from heavy industry, to telecommunications, to consumer retail, to public services. Even the inhabitants of the colony are not truly citizens, but employees of Kronberg Galaxy. A pseudo-aristocratic upper managerial class presides over law, order and efficiency on the planet, at the very head of whom sits the Archon, Sigmund Kronberg. Vergessenheitstor considers itself the inheritor of the traditions of the old German Empire, terminated after Earth's first World War. More Information

Nuevo Tejas

The colony of 'New Texas' is a rugged frontier planet on the fringes of Sigma space, famous (or infamous, depending on who you talk to) for its hard-nosed, independent-minded people. The thinly-spread population of Nuevo Tejas seeks to emulate the lifestyle of 19th century Texas and Mexico, and many people work as ranchers and craftsmen. Its main exports are Brontolo, a type of cattle unique to the planet, and the extremely popular sport of footbol. Nuevo Tejas' military power is largely unremarkable, with the exception of the colonial militia's elite Rangers unit, which escorts the valuable brontolo shipments on their deliveries from system to system. The Rangers turn out some of the best dogfighters in any human military organization, and were the subject of great disappointment on the part of the Sigma Space Forces when Nuevo Tejas, like New Liberia, declined to join the Sigma Federation.
