- MAJ Randall Sterns (Joker)
- Randall Sterns is a hard-bitten, veteran pilot who fought in the Macross 7 – Protodeviln War in the 2040's. More recently, he was called back to provide much-needed leadership and experience to the UN Spacy's decimated ranks. Following his rather unorthodox arrival on the UNS Shogun, Major Sterns led 2nd Lieutenant Thaianch and acting 2nd Lieutenant McGrath into combat over Olau as a relief force for the beleaguered Striker and Wildfire units. Since then, he has been given command of Wildfire Squadron, where he has put his training and combat experience to use in shaping the eclectic team into a fearsome fighting force.
- 1LT Domerin Lorcasf (Shadow Valkyrie)
- Domerin Lorcasf is one of the most well-recognized faces in the UN Spacy today. Over the course of his colourful career, Domerin has served with many units, and fought in many conflicts. He was a late addition to the Shogun's variable fighter wing, originally attached to Striker Squadron, where he earned (or was forced into) his first promotion. Domerin was soon transferred to Wildfire Squadron after the command's original pilots were murdered by a hostile agent aboard the Shogun, and now serves as that unit's executive officer.
- 2LT Erika Sasaki (Raven)
- Little is known about cool-mannered Erika Sasaki before she signed on with the Nuevo Tejan Rangers, and she apparently prefers to keep it that way. It's clear by her strong Swedish accent that she is a native of another Sigma world, Vergessenheitstor, and the timing of her arrival on Nuevo Tejas was notably during the purges of anti-monarchist military personnel on that planet. Erika came aboard the Shogun and joined Wildfire Squadron at the same time as DJ Navarro and Angelos Laitos. While she seems somewhat more willing to accept the supremacy of the UN officers than DJ, she has made it clear that her ultimate loyalty is to Nuevo Tejas and her fellow Ranger.
- 2LT DJ Anderson (Shadow Hunter)
- Daniel Juan Oscar Richardson Navarro is practically a poster-boy for the Nuevo Tejan Rangers. A native son of the unique and fiercely independent Sigma world, he joined the elite Rangers after inheriting his modified VF-9 from his uncle, who once served with the unit himself. DJ joined the Shogun's crew when the UN cruiser rescued himself, Erika Sasaki, and Angelos Laitos when their freighter ran afoul of an SSF patrol on a routine assignment. Though having agreed to join the reformed Wildfire Squadron at the personal request of Captain Rhodes, he continues to assert his independence from the UN Spacy, and is wary of accepting Major Sterns's superiority.
- 2LT Angelos Liatos (Archangel)
- A gifted pilot and former teammate of Domerin Lorcasf in the Flying Nightmares, Angelos was until recently considered MIA. After a failed operation against Sigma forces, he went into hiding on Nuevo Tejas under the alias Jacob Dalton, and joined that world's famed colonial militia where he met DJ Navarro and Erika Sasaki. When the three were picked up by the Shogun, they were assigned to Wildfire Squadron, where Angelos must learn to balance his loyalties to the UN and his newfound comrades.
- 2LT Pascal Thaianch (Thumper)
- Originally a scout pilot attached to the long-range reconnaissance vessel Captain Majestic, Pascal Thaianch was rescued by the Shogun after his ship was crippled in combat with elements of the Sigma Space Forces. Like Declan McGrath, Second Lieutenant Thaianch was put to the test when Major Sterns called him up as a relief pilot during the furious fighting over Olau. His skill in that engagement earned him the respect of his new crew, and a place in the newly-reformed Wildfire Squadron under Sterns' command.
